Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, using a net connection. The rules are very simple and involve the player trying to achieve the best mixture of cards as you can in order to win money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, without the line of contact with competing players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the player inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has chosen which cards she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are able to choose the most profitable ones each time.
As soon as the first round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to double their wins, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
